Prohibited Items

Swapsly is a marketplace for second-hand goods traded between people. To keep it safe — and to comply with the rules of the app stores we distribute through — some things may not be listed, offered, requested, or traded here. This page expands on section 3 of our Terms of Service.

We screen listings automatically when they are posted and we also act on reports from the community. Listings that break these rules are removed, and accounts that repeatedly break them are suspended or terminated.

Weapons

• Firearms of any kind, including frames, receivers, and build kits
• Ammunition, gunpowder, primers, and reloading supplies
• Firearm accessories intended to conceal or increase lethality, such as silencers
• Knives that are illegal to carry or sell in their own right — switchblades, automatic and ballistic knives, balisongs
• Brass knuckles, push daggers, throwing stars, sword canes, and similar

Airsoft, BB, paintball, and clearly-marked toy or replica items are allowed, provided the listing makes plain what it is.

Drugs and controlled substances

• Illegal drugs and controlled substances of any kind
• Prescription medication, including supplements marketed as prescription strength
• Anabolic steroids and similar performance-enhancing compounds
• Drug paraphernalia

Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and nicotine

• Alcoholic beverages
• Tobacco products, cigarettes, cigars, and loose tobacco
• Vapes, e-cigarettes, pods, e-liquid, and nicotine pouches

Empty collectibles are fine — vintage tobacco tins, cigar boxes, cigarette cards, barware, wine racks, and advertising signs are all allowed, as long as no alcohol, tobacco, or nicotine is included.

Adult material

• Pornography and sexually explicit material
• Sex toys and used intimate apparel
• Any material sexualising a minor — this is reported to the authorities, not merely removed

Hazardous and regulated materials

• Explosives, fireworks, and blasting supplies
• Radioactive materials and sources
• Asbestos, liquid mercury, and comparable hazardous substances
• Items whose sale, shipping, or possession is restricted by law

Uranium (vaseline) glass, inert militaria, and other collectibles that are safe to handle are allowed.

Animals and wildlife

• Live animals of any kind
• Ivory, rhino horn, and other products from protected or endangered species

Stolen, counterfeit, and recalled goods

• Stolen property
• Counterfeits, replicas, and "clones" of branded goods
• Goods subject to a safety recall
• Anything you do not own or are not entitled to sell

Other

• Human remains or body parts
• Government identification, licences, and official documents
• Personal data, account credentials, and hacked accounts
• Anything else whose sale or trade is restricted by applicable law

Reporting something

If you see a listing, profile, or message that breaks these rules, tap the flag icon in the app to report it. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act on them — including removing content and suspending accounts — within 24 hours. You can also block any user directly from their profile or from a conversation.
